look up glock serial number

look up glock serial number

Look Up Glock Serial Number - A very common question for new Glock buyers is “What is my Glock?” Prior to the release of the 4th Gen, Glock did not officially recognize model numbers, leading to the perception “A Glock is a Glock is a Glock – they're all the same.” contributed. But early collectors noticed the differences and chose to informally classify them into three main iterations, or "generations." The nomenclature became so common that Glock followed suit with the release of the Gen 4 in 2008 and their promotional literature now at some points emphasizes the previous Gens.

The images below will help you clearly identify which generation your Glock belongs to, but note that there is a lot of overlap as models slowly change. Also, due to California handgun restrictions, 3rd generation guns are still being produced, so you may have a Gen 5 gun that predates your Gen 3! Clues on images identify major features that remain constant across a generation, but minor changes in markings and internal components can be found at different intervals—and sometimes back and forth—within the same generation. This only marks rough distances between the generations. Major frame revisions, many parts are interchangeable into two or more parts, but some changes only last a short period of time in a generation.

Look Up Glock Serial Number

The 1st generation was one of constant change. The original design, while reliable, is still under development. A consistent feature is the grip texture, which wraps around the entire grip (no front or rear strap knurling). It has a smoother feel compared to the later generation and is considered by collectors to have a "pebble texture". Early guns early introduced a Parkerized finish with a thinner stainless steel barrel (no later than the AD prefix) and a larger barrel gauge later than the AN prefix. There are also many variations on the magazine, case and small internal parts. All weapons bear Austrian proof marks, but no consistent placement or number of marks. Most early (pre-US) and European market guns do not have a serial number plate on the frame. Many early weapons were also fitted with target sights, known as "weekend sights" because of their fragility. Standard (fixed) scenarios also have the correct duration, although the target version requires an extra charge. All frames except the few 19s produced have a crescent magazine relief on the underside of the front straps.

Usa Glock 43x

The 2nd generation is also referred to as "Gen 1" by many inexperienced collectors or uninformed dealers. The confusion stems from two factors: 1. The 1st generation is extremely rare and most casual observers may have never seen one before. 2. Several models were introduced in the 2nd generation and some consider it as "1st generation". Generation” because it is the first edition of a specific model. To be clear, if you own a Model 20 or older, you have a Gen 2 Glock, even if it's the first version of that gun. The only obvious difference between the 1 and 2 for the 17-19 models is the addition of checkers to the front and rear straps, as well as the redesign of the sidewalls (lower than the 1st gen). Gen 2 also introduced 5 additional calibers and all .380/9mm guns were fitted with a second safety block pin to prevent frame cracking from heavy recoil. It is important to note that the number of pens does not indicate the product as many believe. 9mm frames only have two pins for Gen 1 to Gen 3 production while all other calibers have 3 pins. All full size frames are carried on a magazine relief located below the front strap.

By the late '90s, Glock had become a dominant force in the American firearms market, and other manufacturers were attempting to copy the design. This led to some pressure to "innovate" Glock's design in order to keep it ahead of the competition. The changes to Gen 3 actually started in 1995 with the release of sub-compact models. The handle was thought to be too small for most people to hold, so finger grooves were molded into the front strap to increase grip and grip. rotation by retraction. This began a three-year transition period until 1998, when all models were completely changed. Some large-frame transitional models are rare (especially in ported variants) - see https:///transitional/ for more info. A Gen 3 features finger grooves on the front strap, thumb rest notches on the top of the handle, and an accessory rail molded into the dust cover. As mentioned above, during the early Gen 3 run you will still find 2-pin designs only for 9mm calibers. In the early 2000s, frames were streamlined to all 3-pin.

By the time the 4th generation came out, Glock had become ubiquitous for the “pistol” but once again faced challengers with innovative designs. One of the fads that attracted consumers was interchangeable back straps to better accommodate different hand sizes. Glock first experimented with thinner grips on the Gn 3 SF models (which were only available in .45 and 10mm calibers). A modular backstrap system gives all frames SF proportions with two upsizing options and plain tile adapter inserts. Internals were redesigned from the ground up and originally built with the .40S&W recoil profile in mind, then scaled down for the 9mm (with Gen 1-3 being reverse engineered). This should prove more durable than the .40 models while retaining the legendary reliability of the 9s. The grip shape was also changed to a more aggressive pattern on the sidewalls - again, the so-called "RTF2" shape was briefly used on late Gen 3 guns. RTF2s are technically Gen 3, possibly Gen 3.5 and were only made from 2009 to 2011 (excluding the special editions of the period) - see image at the bottom of this page.

The first Gen 5 models were originally introduced with the release of the new 42 and 43 subcompact slimline models. These models were released as redesigns with all-new internals to accommodate the smaller sizes, and the FBI played a role in these changes. Go big with your desire for the M models. The 19X, 42, 43, 43X, 44, 45, and 48 technically do not have a Gen 5 designation on the slide, but are very similar to other Gen 5 pistols. The 17 and 19 were officially released as Gen 5s and other 9mm and .40 S&W offerings in 2017, but no .357 Sig, 10mm or .45 ACP offerings have been produced to date. Major changes include a "shooter" barrel, fully ambidextrous controls, a flared magwell, and the removal of the finger grooves on the front strap.

It is likely that (at least) two more designs will be encountered that escape generational differences or are difficult to discern from the discourse above: 1. RTF2 Third Gen & 2. FBI M-Series.

RTF2 is an acronym for Rough Texture Frame, Second Version. The first version was only prototyped and never released, although at least one is on display at the Cody Firearms Museum. Designers developed the second version and new molds were made to incorporate this handle shape into the standard 3rd generation design. All internal components are the same, so only the shape of the handle differs. As you can see in the exploded view, all of the silk is covered in little pyramids - and let me tell you, they're sharp! This gun really sticks to your hand even when wet. Glock primarily sold these to the police from 2009 to 2011, but the design is a clear step between the third and fourth generation guns. The pyramid concept was carried on, but RTF2 with larger pyramids made it possible to wear them and also wear clothes. More pictures can be found at https:///rtf2g/.

Finally, we should also talk about the FBI's M-series pistol. The 17M and 19M actually predated and presumably inspired the Gen 5 guns. Built to specifications required by the FBI as the department's new service weapon, they incorporated some new ideas as well as some design changes from the Mini 42/43 models. These were the first Glocks to feature precision controls and modifications in the rifle to improve accuracy. On the outside, however, the M-Gun looks almost identical to the Gen 5 - the main differences are on the inside, leading many collectors to consider it part of the Gen 5 family. But for the right person, the "M" added to the model designation can make a big difference in the price they prefer

Lower 80 Glock 19 - Released in November 2019, the original GST-9 took 80% of the world by storm, offering modular improvements over a Glock-style frame without losing any parts compatibility. After two years and hundreds of thousands of launches, we've raised the bar again with the GST-9 MOD1.

Based on two years of customer feedback, we've made some changes to our GST-9 framework to stay ahead of the competition. First, we moved the throttle forward and redesigned its profile to further improve frame control with the recoil cycle, which helps get the gun back on target faster and more efficiently. We've also recontoured the surfaces of our modular grip attachments so that each grip option fits perfectly, creating the cleanest design possible. Internally, we have separated the back rail unit to improve the building experience, users now only need to align one hole at a time, which further simplifies the building process.

longest glock

longest glock

Longest Glock - GLOCK pistols are probably the most popular handguns made on planet Earth today, and it's easy to see why.

They are very reliable, relatively cheap and infinitely reliable. There is a reason that almost every US police force uses GLOCKS, and it is the same reason why almost every military on the planet deploys them in one way or another.

Longest Glock

Longest Glock

There are also over fifty different models, seven calibers available, several generations, and about a million and one more parts on the market. So how do you choose?

Shot Show: Glock 40 Mos (10mm)

Finally, there's a GLOCK pistol for every need, whether you need a small pocket/backup gun that won't let you down, or you need a full-size competition gun, perfectly customized to smoke the competition at your next IDPA meeting.

To help you choose the GLOCK that best suits your individual preferences and needs, we've put together this handy guide to help you sort through G21s from G19s to G43s to… you get the idea.

There are five generations of GLOCKS available, but what you should be concerned about are the three most recent.

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation GLOCKS are excellent, and while the newer models have some improved features, the design hasn't changed fundamentally over the generations. Check out the differences, see if they matter to you, and see if they're worth it for your needs. A Gen 3 police swap can be half or even a third of the price of a new Gen 5 model.

The main thing to watch out for here is that parts and magazines may not work from generation to generation, so be careful when researching customization or aftermarket stocks.

GLOCK offers some of their pistols in an "SF" configuration. It means "short frame" and indicates a model with a small grip circumference. These models are appreciated by women, young shooters and men with small hands or shorter fingers.

GLOCK's MOS system is a fancy way of saying that guns are pre-grounded to receive a red dot or holovision.

Longest Glock

If you are looking to put one of these in your guns, see if you like the MOS design.

Big Glock: Meet The Glock 41 (a .45 Caliber Cannon)

It comes with several pre-drilled and cut plates for common optics and gives you the flexibility to change optics easily.

The 9mm Luger or 9×19 or 9mm Parabellum is the most popular handgun if you don't count the .22lr. It is used all over the world, by every military in the West and by almost every civilian gun owner. If you only own one pistol, this is the caliber you should look at first in our opinion.

The G17 is the full-size workhorse of the GLOCK world and may be the most popular GLOCK simply because of the number of police departments that use it as their service weapon.

If you are looking for a full size, easy to shoot GLOCK, this is it. Holds 17 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber.

Glock 17 Vs 19. Which Is Better? [2022]

The G19 is a slightly shortened version of the GLOCK 17.  It carries two smaller rounds in the magazine, but swaps it out for easierfrontier shorter grip and slide. The G19 is the biggest challenger to the 17 in terms of sales volume and is one of the most popular guns on the planet.

The 19x is the new kid on the block and was designed with revised and improved features to meet the needs of the US Army's MHS competition. It comes with a factory FDE coating and uses the easy to conceal G19 frame, with a longer slide and increased sight to make the gun easier to shoot.

According to some (including the author) it is in the top three choices for defensive pistols in the world.

Longest Glock

The G26 is the subcompact option with two 9×19 stacks. It was designed to replace snub-nosed revolvers and other pocket guns while still offering 10+1 tap cartridges. The "Baby GLOCK" is ideal for use as a backup gun because it will still accept magazines from the larger dual 9mm GLOCKS, but can also serve as an easy-to-carry primary weapon. hidden.

Glock 24c 40 S&w

The G43 is the slimmer, single-stack subcompact cutter option of the 9×19. Holds 6 + 1 9×19 rings and is perfect for those who want to keep it deep in a pocket or bag without worrying about print.

The G34 is the 9×19 long-slide competition option and is ideal for shooters who want more sight radius for increased accuracy. This gun is difficult to conceal, but it can be an open carry option, but where it shines is in the competition arena. The G34 is the most common GLOCK seen in a competitive setting, and the model has carried many national match trophies.

The G45 is the newest of the GLOCK models at the time of this writing and has never been released. This is a new model that takes style notes from the 19x and uses a full-size grip to ensure easy shooting.

The .40 S&W may be falling out of popularity as a caliber, but it has a loyal following willing to split the difference between 9mm and .45 ACP. One of the great benefits of the .40 S&W GLOCK models is the ability to swap out a spare 9mm barrel and use both calibers in the same gun.

Glock Pistols For Sale At Worth Firearms

The G22 is S&W's full size .40 handgun offering. The G22 is still one of the most popular service weapons used by law enforcement, although many have converted to 9mm models. Holds 15+1 rounds.

The G23 is the same size as the G19 and is the compact, more stealthy version of the G22. It has a capacity of 13+1.

The .40 S&W version of the baby GLOCK, the G27 delivers .40 S&W power, in a subcompact package. It has a capacity of 10+1.

Longest Glock

The long-slide G35 is the competitive .40 S&W offering and is ideal for competitors who want a little more power than the 9mm provides. Many competitors will trade in a 9mm practice barrel for cheaper ammo.

Mm Glock Models [ultimate Guide]

The .45 ACP is one of the most recognized handgun calibers in America. This is what our grandfathers wore on their sleeves in World War II. This was the first American gun cartridge.

The G21 is the full size GLOCK handgun in .45 ACP. It is used by police and other law enforcement agencies across the US and is a common sight among 3-gun "Heavy Metal" hunters and backcountry bear hunters looking for a little backup. . It has a capacity of 13+1.

The G30 is the true subcompact version of the .45 ACP GLOCK. The small size and large caliber make it a bit of a setback, but for a deep carry gun, it serves well. It has a capacity of 10+1

The GLOCK .45 ACP Subcompact Single Stack is a great option for those who want .45 ACP power, in the smallest form factor. The 6+1 capacity is smaller than your average 1911, but it conceals well and shoots at least when compared to larger .45 ACP pistols.

Glock 17l And Glock 42 On 12/18/14

The G41 is another long slide, competition-oriented GLOCK, this time in .45 ACP. It's especially popular with competitors looking to take advantage of the power rating mechanics, and it also makes a fantastic home defense weapon. It has the same capacity as the G21 at 13 + 1

With the advancement of hollowpoint technology, the popularity of the once considered small .380 ACP exploded. With modern bullets offering more damage to soft targets, more and more people are turning to .380 pocket guns for self-defense, so when GLOCK released their .380 pocket gun specification, it sold like hotcakes.

The G42 is a single-stack, subcompact GLOCK chambered in .380. It makes a great backup weapon or even a great deep weapon stash.

Longest Glock

Its small size allows it to be easily and quickly lost in a pocket or bag, but the ergonomics and design allow it to be surprisingly easy to shoot. It has a capacity of 6+1.

S&w Caliber Glock 24

The 10mm, often jokingly referred to as "the best millimeter" is a common target hunting and hunting round beloved for its flat trajectory and stopping power. While some carry it for protection against human predators, the 10mm has an avid following of hunters and wilderness guides in bear country who need a powerful sidearm.

The G20 is the most popular handgun in bear country, where you'll find many hunters and outdoorsmen turning to the rugged and reliable GLOCK platform to see them safe from North America's largest predator.

For those who want 10mm power in a subcompact form factor, GLOCK makes the G29. Although it's a little hot to hold, the G29 is extremely sharp and perfect for anyone needing a smaller, more compact 10mm arm. It has a capacity of 10+1.

GLOCK's long slide 10mm offering, the G40, is another common sight in bear country, but it also sees competition between Heavy Metal competitors and those looking to take advantage of the power factor rating. . it

Long Slide Glock - I call it the F-350 weapon. That's a ridiculous amount of guns for most everyday users, and normally a gun doesn't show up in town. It's just not stable. However, there is a reason the F350 was created, because there are users who know what it takes to do a great job. It could be heavy loads, long distance shipping, or just shipping *ss.

The G40 Gen4 is housed in a 10mm MOS configuration and incorporates a full 6-inch barrel for improved velocity with a 15-round magazine capacity. The G40 Gen4 in MOS configuration is a powerful but easy-to-carry pistol; Perfect for outdoorsmen, hunters and sports shooters. It has been given to pistol hunters the ultimate choice in a semi-automatic game gun and has been shown to be as capable of taking down games as the White-Tailed Deer, the Russian Wild Boar and even the Wild Boar. .

Long Slide Glock

The new Glock pistol case is a big step forward, but I think the G40 is bigger than that. Opening it, the box almost fell out due to the inside. Everything back to the case, just make sure to improve your Tetris skills.

Glock 34: Most Accurate 9mm Gun On The Planet?

I was expecting the Glock to be heavier for its size, but the lighter giant Glock weighs in at just over 28 ounces. Now, I wouldn't even call it pretty because of its size. The pistol is heavy at idle and long sliding, but it's balanced when loaded with magazine (about 40 ounces). As long as the red dot isn't at the top, I found it neutral during long shoots.

The war itself is huge. People with small hands should not use it even without a back strap. My wife, who can hold the G17 9mm's middle band pretty well, finds it difficult to hold and pull the trigger at the same time. My medium-sized hands find the smaller holster more comfortable, but the medium back holster is the most convincing as I tend to slide and raise the gun. Unlike other competitively oriented Glock pistols, the G40 does not have an extended slide stop.

I'm sure it's mentioned a few more times, but for the sake of portability, it's the Glock Gen 4. The grip includes finger sticks (which worked for me), a textured square grip shape. (I like it too), a larger, reverse magazine, and a very shallow cut in the trigger guard for the middle finger. It comes with standard Glock adjustable sights (which work, but sucks), and interestingly, the rear sight actually covers the back of the slide a bit. Not sure if this is technical oversight, but it's annoying for "perfection".

The MOS system or "Modular Optical System" is the newest and I have found a great addition to the Glock family. Introduced by its smaller siblings the G40 and 9mm/.40, the optical mounts are factory-cut into sliders. It's not innovative in any way, as the aftermarket has been doing this for years, but it's useful and really helps make "perfect" closer to perfect.

Update On The New Glock Model 40: Looks Like Longslide 10mm

Author's Note - PFI optics shipped separately from Pride Fowler are not compatible with MOS systems. When installing one of the scopes, the optic was too far forward to actually fit the gun's slide as intended. To test the MOS system (not pictured), I took a small Trijicon dot.

Usually, people who want this functionality have to buy an aftermarket slider, send it in for milling, or use an adapter plate to mount the optics. Business loans have at least a few advantages. Once loaded into the milling machine, adding cuts is easy and inexpensive, the cutting area can be emptied and it provides tighter tolerances than for individual machine loads.

The MOS installation area is located directly in front of the adjustable rear sight. When shipped, it comes with a flat plate and a profile that fits with the slider. This combination is excellent and only people with good eyesight or close range guns will notice that it can accept optics. The plate is held in place by two torx head screws and can be easily removed for optical mounting. The adapter plate for sliding and optics is selected to the adapter plate. that's it.

Long Slide Glock

Once installed, it will cause another problem. The sights of the factory are too low for any witness. Given the cost of injection molding, another oversight from Glock. I know there are a lot of aftermarket systems out there, but at least Glock could have tried.

If one has shot 10mm before, there is nothing remarkable about the Glock's performance. To me, the cartridge is like its daughter .40 S&W. There's a bit of recoil that the dual springs and heavier sliders help with, but not so much that I can move on to another stretch.

Accuracy was still average for my abilities with the Glock, but the longer sight radius helped narrow it down a bit to just over 1.5 inches at 15 yards (180-grain Free Bullet RNFP) using an iron scope (I usually shoot around 2)″ with the G19 ). Adding the lens (provided by PFI – detailed review later), I was able to narrow it down a bit and shoot 2.0″ at 25 yards.

As with most reviews written about the Glock, the trigger is long, soft, and the Glock is hard. However, I'm not a fan of this as Glock chose to remove the cartridges found in most of their other pistols. This really highlights the passive safety feature, which after three magazines was really annoying in my trigger finger. After 100 laps, I absolutely hate it. Of course, personal preference dictates the day, but in my opinion, this is a Glock in need of an aftermarket switch.

Triggers aside, the MOS system really shines on the gun. True to the Glocks' intended purpose, the addition of the optics makes this a "long" gun with real hunting potential. For those with older eyes or faster mobile aiming, the red dot on the gun will flash. With better trigger control or better series transitions, the G40 can fulfill Glock's claim of being a great shotgun.

However, I would note that a longer payload will be required to get the most out of the crate. 10mm loads are usually "neutralized" at the factory.

Author's Note: Although Glock specifically disapproved of this practice, shooting the .40 S&W through 10mm is possible, if not more enjoyable due to the improved slip-to-powder ratio. benevolent. Glock points out that this voids your warranty, and rightfully so, because someone is shooting outside the right headroom. TFB and I do NOT recommend doing this at home.

The problem with looking at Glocks is that they are Glocks. There's really never anything new about them, so writers have to look up prose. It's no different. The G40 Gen 4 is essentially a Glock, just much bigger. It's a great gun for those who want or need a 10mm. In my opinion, if you don't need the 10mm, the trade-off to get it with a larger grip and bulkier dimensions is not worth it.

Long Slide Glock

The MOS system for optical mounting, on the other hand, is highly regarded and is a solid step forward for conservative Glock. With simple plates to attach to any possible little red dot (non-PFI) it's a universal system that works well, though I'm curious how the various red dot systems cope with so much recoil.

In the end, the combination of the two makes it the novel Glock. It is a real cannon with a 6-inch barrel (although reloading is required to make the most of this length). In addition, it is reliable, the trigger is solid, and it can attach the red scope without having to look for sliders or aftermarket mounting accessories.

So if you need that many guns, it does a great job. If you don't need that many guns, go for the smaller option, you'll be much happier.

Safe and super simple: Unlike usual, the trigger is the only element that works. All three pistol safes are disabled when the trigger is pulled and automatically activated when released.
